'Weird form of laziness': Dog owners disappointed over disgusting trend

“I just can't understand why there are so many inconsiderate people around."

One of the most important things to take with you when you’re walking your dog is a bag to pick up anything they leave behind.

But, what’s the point if it doesn’t end up in the bin?

A Brisbane local is calling out dog owners in the area after noticing an uptick on the amount of rubbish on their usual walk - and people are fuming.

“Is this why we can’t have nice things?”

An Aussie dog owner has taken to Reddit after spotting a number of poop bags along their usual walking track.

“Is this why we can’t have nice things…?” the post began.

“Took my dogs for a quick loop around JC Slaughter Falls this evening. They had a good old sniff but nothing more. Yet we still came back with 4 other dogs’ poos, neatly bagged and left by the trail.”

The poster provided a photo of the evidence, which consisted of four poop bags - and the bottom of someone’s shoe. This led everyone to question, why would you do it?

“Do people really kid themselves they’re gonna collect it on the way back? Or do they just shrug, admit to themselves they’re lazy, selfish, venial bastards, and get on with their day?” the poster said.

“Oh, and how do you not notice you’ve left half your chuffing shoe behind? FFS!”

“This makes me cranky!”

Commenters on the post agreed with the sentiment, asking why someone would bother packing a bag if you’re not going to use it correctly.

“This makes me cranky. Bagging it and leaving it the bush is even worse than just leaving it - at least then it would decompose, unlike a plastic bag,” one person said.

“If you can't handle carrying a bag of shit until you pass a bin, you can't handle being a dog owner,” said another.

“I find it just wild people bother to bag their dogs shit and then toss the bag. It's such a weird form of laziness and so much worse than not trying anything,” a third agreed.

“Those bags don't even decompose that well,” said another person.

“People have no respect”

But, it seems like it might be the tip of the iceberg of a much larger, and far more disappointing trend, with others saying they’ve noticed an increase in littering just about everywhere.

“People have no respect. I went to a concert at Riverstage a few weeks ago and once the line started moving to let people in, they just dumped their rubbish on the ground even though there are literally several bins at the entrance?!” one commenter said.

“This happens down at Daisy Hill too. People leave doggy bags, coffee cups and other wrappers. I caught one in the act and he whinged about there being no bins. Told him to just carry it back,” said another.

“I just can't understand why there are so many inconsiderate people around,” said a third person.
