Random note found on Sydney train was a warning many weren't expecting

Aussies are obsessed with one Sydney commuter's act.

School events: a burden or a joy?

No one would be surprised to hear that public transport, no matter where you go, can be a little icky.

No matter where you go, there’s bound to be rubbish left astray, a funky smell, and perhaps even a seat left suspiciously damp.

That’s why Aussies are obsessed with one Sydney commuter's act of kindness - and maybe we should all be getting on board.

“PLEASE CHECK BEFORE SITTING”

A Sydney Reddit user has taken to the platform to share an act of kindness they witnessed on what looks like a Sydney train.

Shared with the caption, ‘I just want to say, thank you’, the user posted a photo of a note with a written warning for whoever was planning on sitting on the seat next.

“THE SEAT IS WET,” said the note.

“PLEASE CHECK BEFORE SITTING.”

“Angels walk amongst us”

Commenters on the post praised the anonymous person, noting how considerate and kind the act was.

“What a considerate person!” one person said.

“Hero!!” said another.

“That’s very nice, and I love to see people looking out for one another,” a third person agreed.

“Angels walk amongst us,” said another person.

“Wish I had this hero”

Others were encouraging more people to act like this - sharing their own horror stories that have landed them with wet bottoms.

“A couple months ago, hot day. I sat in piss soaked seat. Wish I had this hero,” one person said.

“I once sat on a wet train seat on the way to an evening event (which I had specifically dressed up for), didn’t realise for a good 5-6 stops until I stood up at my stop and not only felt a wet patch all over the back of my pants, but could now distinctively smell urine on me, and obviously couldn’t even go out despite already having commuted nearly an hour. I now have profound trust issues with public transport, that’s for sure,” said another.

“I once sat on a wet bus seat and it left the paranoid for months. I’d do this light pat to make sure I was all clear but the idea of touching a wet bus or train seat with your bare hand somehow feels worse than just getting a wet butt. The patterns make it impossible to tell!” another exclaimed.
