Ah, kikki.K.
When I think of kikki.K, I think first of the stationery stores that were so popular in the 2010s.
Back then, when it came to bougie stationery, we had Smiggle as the entry-level store, followed by Typo for edgy millennials and Disney adults, and then finally kikki.K - a stationery-lover’s dream, filled with clean lines and pastel colours. Fancy and professional, but not like the boring stuff you’d buy from a regular office store.
My nearest location closed over 5 years ago, but I’ve continued to shop online (what can I say, the diaries are unbeatable!). So, you can imagine my surprise when I found out that the retailer had expanded, not just into things like bags and drink bottles, but also into clothing.

Ummmm, what?!
Yep, that’s right, kikki.K now officially sells clothing.
Whilst just a few months ago if you visited their website, all you would see were a range of pens and calendars, they now have an entire womenswear line, with pieces ranging from casual sweaters to denim, button-ups for the office, and trendy slogan hats.
But, they’re not just regular clothes - they’re expensive ones.
A pair of denim jeans on the site will set you back a whopping $169, and for a cardigan? A whopping $199.

So… when did this happen?
In the About Us section, the brand does acknowledge the change, saying that this is ‘brand new world of kikki.K.’
“Founded in 2000 in Melbourne, kikki.K introduced a new concept in stationery to the world. Today, the brand enters into a vibrant new chapter, inviting customers to unleash their creativity and write their own story,” the website says.
“With a refreshed approach and a curated color palette at its core, this new era is set to invigorate with a revived range of purposeful stationery, functional lifestyle pieces and apparel crafted for the individual.
“We make everyday essentials designed for personal expression, so you can move through your day in style. Every lifestyle product created by kikki.K is fashion inspired, design lead, and full of personality.”
The brand collapsed twice during the pandemic, going into voluntary administration for the first time back in 2020, and then again less than 18 months later.
Gorman Clothing founder Lisa Gorman became kikki.K’s creative director in 2023, making it easy for people to give her credit for the brand’s new look and direction.
Could this finally be kikki.K’s time to shine again?
