Coldplay affair reignites 'shocking' Bluey rumour that no fan wants to believe

"Bandit would NEVER!"

It's the storyline that plays out in the minds of sick viewers behind the scenes, but will never see the light of day if creators and die-hard Bluey fans can help it. 

But the long-standing rumour of Bluey's dad Bandit and Judo's mum Wendy having a sneaky affair has surfaced once again thanks to Coldplay's recent kiss cam exposé.

Bandit and Wendy affair rumour is back 

Back in November 2022, Aussie dad and comedian, Zach Mander, shared his X-rated theory about Bandit and Wendy having an affair. 

He hints at the possible spark between the neighbours after some claimed there was something fishy going on with Chilli and Lucky's dad, Pat (that story is for another time!). 

It had fans of the Aussie animation both mortified at the thought and theorising about how it had legs. 

While still quietly bubbling away in Reddit threads and fan groups, the rumour was given more air time recently after Coldplay's kiss cam exposed a secret relationship between Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his HR executive, Kristin Cabot. 

After many requests, an Aussie tattoo artist decided to mock up an image of Bandit and Wendy canoodling at a concert in the same way the colleagues were caught out. 

"I saw someone request this idea and I immediately needed to draw it up. Please enjoy," she shared in the Adult Bluey Fans Facebook group.

"Bandit would NEVER!"

The image instantly divided fans, with most of the 2.2K comments coming to Bluey's loveable dad's defence. 

"Bandit would never!" one fan insisted. 

"Don't do my boy Bandit like that," another chimed in. 

And another agreed: "Never in a million years would Bandit do the dirty on Chilli."

Meanwhile, others said they weren't exactly ruling out the theory of Bandit and Wendy having an affair in their own heads. 

"When I saw that episode I thought so lol. That’s not normal neighborhood behaviour," someone claimed. 

"I’ve always said this about Bandit," another agreed. 

Other die-hard fans were mortified that people were even suggesting such a thing about their family's favourite show. 

"This is tacky and disgusting! Stop using a child's show for adult nonsense."

The cheeky scene that sparked the rumours

At the time the rumour came to light, Zach Mander supported the theory with a clip from the animated series shared on TikTok. 

The scene sees Wendy and Bandit having a cheeky exchange that only adult viewers were able to see through. 

"Why don't you kids go upstairs and play with Judo? I'll look after your sheep for you," Wendy says, and looks at Bandit acting like a sheep. 

Zach questions, "'Look after?' What's that supposed to mean?"

Then he cuts back to the same scene where Wendy says, "I'll show you what 10 years of Pilates can do," and then tries to lift Bandit off the ground. 

While she's lifting him off the ground, Bandit says quietly to himself, 'Look at those quads!'

Zach then says, "Yikes, a number of people have also pointed out the prevalence of pineapples in the Heeler house. Now I've always thought that's because Southeast Queensland, where they live, is known for its pineapples - but after Googling what pineapples symbolise... I don't know, maybe there is something going on in this cul de sac."
