Happy Meals are getting a festive makeover this Christmas

The brand new collaboration will see The Elf on the Shelf Santaverse characters take over Maccas stores across Australia.

After embracing the spooky season with their iconic Boo Buckets, Maccas is well and truly taking things to the next level when it comes to Christmas, with another exciting, brand new launch coming to Australia.

Some very special guests will be infiltrating Happy Meals across the country direct from the North Pole, providing a joyous treat regardless of if you’ve been naughty or nice.

Happy Meals are getting a festive makeover

Ahead of the silly season, McDonald's has officially partnered with The Lumistella Company, home to the storytelling world of The Elf on the Shelf Santaverse, to launch The Elf on the Shelf Happy Meal.

There will be a whopping 10 The Elf on the Shelf Santaverse plush toy characters and two The Elf on the Shelf books to collect with the purchase of a Happy Meal, with characters including four Scout Elves, three Elf Mates and three Elf Pets.

Each plush toy features a handy loop, meaning they’re not just a Happy Meal toy, but also a Christmas decoration to fill up your tree.

As part of the festivities, collectors can also take part in a cheeky Scout Elf hunt across Maccass restaurants nationwide. Just find the elf with the QR code at your local McDonald's, scan to enter the draw and win exclusive The Elf on the Shelf prizes.

Delivering holiday fun and feel-good moments

McDonald’s Australia announced the exciting news this week, with exciting times ahead for both adults and kids alike looking to bring in some festive cheer.

“For the first time ever in Australia, the cult Christmas tradition of The Elf on the Shelf, that has captured the hearts of families around the world, will be flying into Maccas for the holiday season,” Amanda Nakad, Marketing Director for McDonald’s Australia, said.

“Christmas is such a joyous time for both kids and adults alike. We know that the tradition of The Elf on the Shelf brings thousands of families together every year, and our series of playful and lovable elves with their adorable friends from Santa’s North Pole are sure to deliver holiday fun and Maccas feel-good moments and memories to everyone.

“But you’ll have to get in quick - Santa’s little helpers won’t be here for long, with Happy Meal available for a limited time before they head home to the North Pole.”

Elf on the Shelf Happy Meals will be arriving at Maccas restaurants nationwide from Wednesday, November 20 to Wednesday, December 25, while stock lasts.

They'll be available across McDonald's restaurants nationwide, via the MyMaccas App and McDelivery.
