The summer appliance I really didn’t think I needed - until I tried it
"I've tried pretty much every robot appliance there is. But this one does something others don't do."

When it comes to technology making my life a whole lot easier, you bet I'm all for it.
Particularly when it comes to robot cleaning appliances. I've pretty much tried them all.
I've given iRobot's Roomba a whirl in the home, put the Worx Landroid VISION robot lawn mower to work outside, and even sipped my coffee while watching Ecovacs' Winbot NEO window cleaner scrub away with very little effort from me.
But one that I have yet to try is an AI robot pool cleaner. Niche, I know. Which is why I probably haven't tried it yet.

The appliance I really didn't think I needed
When it comes to avoiding chores, you can guarantee that I will try and outsource it to someone who won't be able to complain about it.
Which is why when I was offered the chance to review a new and impressive robot pool cleaner, my ears pricked up a little.
"But aren't all pool cleaners robots?" I hear you ask.
Well, the short answer is yes. But this one is different because it offers something none of the others do.
Let me introduce you to the AquaSense Pro by Beatbot.
Haven't come across it? Well, that's because it is only new to the Aussie market but it's set to make a huge splash this summer.
About the AquaSense Pro
The AquaSense Pro is the new pool cleaning robot that has landed Down Under and it's the world's first innovative 5-in-1 pool cleaning solution.
The cordless appliance combines cutting-edge AI, an eco-friendly design and designed for optimal performance, boasting nine high-performance motors and a powerful 5500 GPH suction system.
It offers up to 9.5 hours of cleaning time on a single charge and with the smart sensors and AI-driven path optimisation, allows full coverage without you having to even leave that deck chair to check up on it.
“Our AquaSense Pro robot offers a leap in intelligent, autonomous pool care, taking away the headaches of tangled power cords, inefficient cleaning paths, and incomplete coverage,” said Siler Wang, CEO and Founder of Beatbot declares.
“AquaSense Pro is here to make pool ownership effortless for Australians, ensuring pristine pools year-round.”
Two game-changing modes for a pool cleaner
So let's talk about this 5-in-1 system. To keep it basic, the AquaSense Pro tackles the pool's surface, waterline, walls, floor, and even water clarification.
Yes, for the first time ever, a pool cleaner that will actually skim the waterline for leaves and other debris that you usually need to manually scoop up with a net. How good!
Setting up the appliance was super easy and once it was fully powered up via the charging port, it was time to give it a red-hot go to impress me. I already had a pool cleaner, so really didn't need another appliance in the shed ... Or did it?
My first observation when I placed it in the water was: "Is this thing even on?"
It wasn't long after that I realised it was scanning the area before retreating to the bottom of the pool - all while barely making a sound.
I made sure there was a good amount of debris at the bottom of the pool to see how well it tackles those areas and unlike my current bot, the leaves and dirt were gone in one clean swoop.
"Yeah OK, this thing is good," I thought.

My verdict
Full disclosure here - this isn't going to be a cheap buy.
The AquaSense Pro retails at $3,499 while the AquaSense is available for $2,199, so it's very much an investment for your home. But as my husband pointed out to me: "Aren't all good pool cleaners about the same price anyway?"
And he's right. A lot of well-known brands do sit around the same price bracket - but not all of them offer the same kind of performance and extras this one does.
Personally, I enjoyed not having any creepy crawly cords floating around the pool, which meant the family could easily swim around it while it was still cleaning without getting tangled. Operating the appliance through the Beatbot app was also a bonus, which meant I could change modes and check status easily without even having to go outside.
But there were four real winners when it came to this machine:
- It's super quiet
- I didn't need to get the net out to skim the top for leaves
- It clarifies on the go
- It cleans for hours without me having to get up to empty it
Maybe I did need a new pool cleaner, after all.
Pre-orders are available now via the official Beatbot website.
