We are BIG tea drinkers in the taste HQ office, so when we discovered a nifty new way to brew our afternoon cuppa, we knew we had to give it a try. Enter: the T2 Teamaker.

It’s always a bit of a faff using one of those fiddly strainers for loose leaf tea, especially the ones with a clasp to hold everything together. What makes this T2 version so special is the way they’ve designed the strainer to pour from the bottom. With a regular teapot, you usually have to pour from the top, but the T2 Teamaker features a strainer at the base so when it sits on top of a cup, it flows from the bottom. Pretty cool, right?!

The T2 Teamaker: A taste test kitchen review

It hit 3pm and we knew it was the perfect time to try out the Teamaker. So we boiled the jug, picked out our favourite tea and got to work. There’s actually not a lot to it – simply add in a scoop or two of your loose leaf tea of choice, add hot water and let it brew. When you’re ready to drink, pop the Teamaker on top of a cup or mug and watch as your tea flows out from the base. When your cup is full, simply remove the gadget and it’ll stop pouring automatically.

We loved how easy this was to use and it was pretty mesmerising watching tea flow out from the bottom, rather than needing to pour it out from the top of a teapot. When it came to cleaning the Teamaker, you do admittedly have to scoop out the leaves, but it was no more fiddly than a regular strainer.
