From having a berry good time at the Stanthorpe Berry Festival to enjoying some of the finest music around, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this weekend.

Held at the Stanthorpe Showground on Saturday there will be plenty of activities, including cooking demonstrations with celebrity chef Matt Golinski, eating competitions, art workshops, sip sessions, pie throwing, roving entertainment, and a stroll through the boutique market where you can graze on delicious goodies.

Kids will be entertained with berry games, dress-ups, and pot painting.

Gates open at 11am.

2. Train tour

All aboard for a journey back in time.

Take a leisurely train tour on the Commissioner Railmotors and see the meticulously restored machines for yourself. Gaze over country landscapes and more.

The train will depart from the DownsSteam Tourist Railway and Museum station in Drayton for a return trip to Pittsworth on Sunday. ‘

3. Listen to a master

The Empire Theatre with host Italian baroque violinist Davide Monti on Saturday night.

Be prepared for a beautiful, theatrical performance with music from some of the greats like Handel and Bach, and featuring Locatelli’s fiendish and challenging concerto, Harmonic Labyrinth which carries the tantalising subtitle: Easy to Enter; Difficult to Get Out Of.

4. Family fun day

Highfields Central Early Education Centre is hosting a family day where children can meet their favourite princesses, enjoy balloon animals, have their face painted and enjoy plenty of sweet treats.

There will be a barbecue lunch, along with a raffle to win a $250 Grand Central Shopping Centre voucher.

All money raised on the day will go to the Hope Horizons Cancer Wellness Centre.

5. Live music

Kick back at Bone Idol Brewery on the weekend and listen to some live music.

Dangerburd and Paper Lane will perform on Saturday, followed by 8 Ball Aitken with JEssy Lynch on Sunday.

Captain Thunderbolt will perform at the Tatts Hotel on Saturday.

6. New Beginnings

An interactive art experience for all ages, New Beginnings will be holding a wide variety of art workshops, live painting demonstrations and artisans gifts at Tulip Terrace, 2 Lawrence St.

7. How to save a life

Meet local emergency crew and volunteers of the Toowoomba Local Ambulance Committee on Saturday from 10am at Grand Central Shopping Centre.

Familiarise yourself with lifesaving assist equipment, learn CPR, receive an Emergency Medical Information booklet, and get answers to questions from ambulance crew. There will also be merchandise and freebies.

8. Dine in the Vines

Indulge in an intimate dining experience at Rosalie House with your closest friends, nestled among the vines, and enjoy a meal you’ll never forget.

There’ll also be an opportunity for wine-tasting and a private tour of the vineyard. Cost is $250 per person.

9. Watch a movie

Beat the heat and enjoy a movie in airconditioned comfort at Grand Central and The Strand Cinemas.

The highly anticipated historical action flick Gladiator II will start its run.

The Moogai, Transformers One, Lee, Here, and Paddington.

10. Markets

Every Saturday, the Toowoomba Farmers’ Market is at 27 Lindsay St, East Toowoomba (near the windmills at Cobb Co Museum) from 7am to noon. And every Sunday, you can find something amazing at the Toowoomba PCYC Market at 219 James St from 7am to 12.30pm.
