Anzac Day in the Darling Downs: Service times and road closures

Anzac Day is a time for us to come together as a nation and pay our respects to the men and woman who laid down their lives in service of their country.

Anzac Day – our national day of remembrance – is upon us again and the community is invited to take part in one of the man services held across our region on tomorrow

Toowoomba Dawn Service

• 5.15am: parade starts at the Toowoomba Bus Station, Neil St, ending at Mothers’ Memorial, Toowoomba.

• 5.30-6.15am: Dawn Service at the Mothers’ Memorial.

Toowoomba Main Service

• 9am: Wreath laying ceremony at Mother’s Memorial, Toowoomba

• 10am: Parad begins from Margaret and Neil streets intersection ending at Mother’s Memorial.

• 10.15am: Mid-morning service at Mother’s Memorial, concluding about 11am.

Acland

• 10-11.30am: Tom Doherty Park, Francis St.

Cecil Plains

• 9.30-11.30am: Henry Stuart Russell Park, Taylor St.

• 9.45am: March commences to Henry Stuart Russell Park.

Clifton

• 5.30am: Dawn Service at the cenotaph

• 10.30-12pm: Mid-morning service, parade assemble at corner King Street and Meara Place. Service at the cenotaph from 11am.

• 10-10:30am: Cooyar Way Memorial, New England Highway.

Crows Nest

• 5.30am: Dawn Service at Memorial Walk, Centenary Park, followed by breakfast.

• 10.30-11am: Commemorative Ceremony.

Drayton

• 7.20-8am: Drayton Soldiers Memorial Park.

Goombungee

• 5.30am: Dawn Service at Mocatta Street, followed by a gunfire breakfast.

• 10.20am: Mid-morning service and march followed by lunch.

Gowrie Junction

• 5.45-6:30am: Dawn Service at Gowrie Junction State School.

Greenmount

• 9.45am-12pm: Greenmount Memorial Hall.

Harlaxton

• 6am: Gunfire Breakfast, North Toowoomba Bowls Club

• 12pm: Midday Service, North Toowoomba Bowls Club

Highfields

• 5.15am: Dawn Service at the Highfieldss Cultural Centre followed by Gunfire Breakfast.

• 9.45am: March followed by Mid-Morning Service.

Kingsthorpe

• 2pm: Mid-Afternoon Service at Kingsthorpe War Memorial followed by afternoon tea.

Millmerran

• 9.40am: March assemble in Campbell Street followed by wreath laying at ANZAC Memorial Park.

• 10:30am: Service at Millmerran Community & Cultural Centre, Walpole Street.

Oakey

• 5.25am: Dawn Service at Oakey War Memorial.

• 9.30am: Anzac Day March followed by Citizens Commemoration Service at Bicentennial Park.

Pittsworth

• 4.28am: Dawn Service at Pittsworth Soldiers Memorial Hall School of Arts.

• 9am: laying of poppies at Pittsworth Cemetery

• 10.30am: Parade starts followed by Civic Service at Pittsworth Town Hall

• 10.30am: Parade musters followed by service at Memorial Park cenotaph.
