Pink was dared into trying a popular Aussie biscuit during her Melbourne show this week – and the challenge was accepted by the pop star.

The singer was in-between songs at Marvel Stadium when a fan gave her a box of Vegemite Shapes biscuits, which she was happy to accept.

“Don’t challenge me,” she playfully quipped. “Are you gonna have some? Do you like them?”

As she opened the box and sniffed the biscuits, Pink was clearly regretting her decision to play along.

“I mean, it’s a carb. What’s bad about it?” she said with a sour face after eating the popular Arnott's snack. “It’s a little dry, though.”

As the audience laughed, the singer asked if the fan wanted to share some because she was done.

“I think I’m good,” Pink joked as she handed back the box.

Pink isn’t the only international act who doesn’t rate Vegemite. Last year, pop star Jason Derulo was left squirming after tasting the beloved Aussie pantry staple.

The American singer was a coach on The Voice Australia at the time alongside British singer Rita Ora when local coaches Jessica Mauboy and Guy Sebastian conducted a blind tasting on them.

While Ora said “it wasn’t bad at all”, Derulo was already put-off by the smell when it was presented to him on a spoon.

“It’s edible. We all eat it here,” Mauboy assured him, to which he replied, “Uh uh” before tasting it.

“Not gonna lie, that Vegemite was not it,” he concluded. “I was like ‘Oh damn, they just fed me sh*t on live television.’”

However, one international star who doesn’t mind Vegemite is Tom Hanks – and in heavy amounts too.

The Oscar-winner mortified Aussies when he shared a photo of his breakfast on social media back in 2020 while he was isolating with Covid-19 during production on Elvis.

His toast was buttered with an obscene amounts of Vegemite, triggering an intense social media reaction.

“Oh my, Mr Hanks, not even the bravest Aussie would put THAT much vegemite on a piece of toast!,” one user wrote. “Life is like a tube of Vegemite. Don’t try it all at once,” another wrote.

“Corona won’t kill you but that amount of Vegemite will!”, another added.

Hanks then swiftly addressed Aussie fans’ concerns, saying he had since “learned not to spread my Vegemite so thick”.
