Lady Gaga is set to return to Brisbane for the first time in more than a decade, with the pop icon to play at Suncorp Stadium on December 9 as part of her upcoming Mayhem Ball world tour.
The concert marks Gaga’s first Brisbane appearance since her 2014 ArtRave: The ARTPOP Ball tour, which visited the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
It also marks her first-ever stadium performance in Australia.
The Australian leg of the tour includes just three dates, with a show at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne on December 5, Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on December 9, and Accor Stadium in Sydney on December 12.
The tour supports Gaga’s seventh studio album Mayhem, which debuted at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart in March.
The record has drawn widespread critical acclaim and features the hit single Die With A Smile, a collaboration with Bruno Mars.
Globally, the Mayhem Ball has already sold out stadiums across North America, Europe and Asia, including headline appearances at Coachella and a free concert on Copacabana Beach in Brazil attended by hundreds of thousands of people.
Presale tickets for the Australian shows will be available from April 14, with general sales opening on April 17 at 2pm in Brisbane. Full ticketing information is available at livenation.com.au.
Although only one show is currently scheduled in each city, industry sources say additional dates may be on the cards.
With no major events locked in at Suncorp Stadium throughout December, there is room in the calendar should Gaga choose to extend her Brisbane run.
The move would follow a growing trend among major touring artists, many of whom have added extra Australian shows closer to concert dates in response to surging ticket sales.
