Australian Little Monsters rejoice! Lady Gaga hasn’t forgotten you and will bring her much-anticipated Mayhem Ball world tour down under in December.
It has been 11 years since Gaga performed on Australian stages with her ArtRave: The ARTPOP Ball, and her loyal fans here were desperate for her return.
Fans were given some hope of the Just Dance pop queen coming back to Australia during a radio interview in early March.
“I can’t formally announce anything, but I can tell you that I’m going to be announcing … some things,” Gaga told the The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick.
“I miss my fans there so much, I really do.
“I have such fond memories of being in Australia, it’s a beautiful place and I really do want to come back soon.”
Back in 2014, Gaga played six arena shows. For the Australian leg of the world tour in December, the “Abracadabra” pop superstar heads to our biggest east coast stadiums.
She will open the run at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne on December 5 and then head to Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on December 9 and finally Sydney’s Accor Stadium on December 12.
Gaga said she hadn’t planned on a world tour in support of her acclaimed Mayhem record.
But after enormous demand to see her at big event gigs kicking off with the Coachella festival and then in Singapore, Mexico and Rio de Janeiro in April and May, she decided to forge ahead.
More arena concerts were added in North America, Europe and the UK last week and now the big stadium shows in Australia.
“I wasn’t planning to tour this year after my shows in Singapore but the incredible response to the new album inspired me to keep things going,” she told fans.
“This show is designed to be the kind of theatrical and electrifying experience that brings Mayhem to life exactly how I envision it.”
Mayhem has been hailed by fans and critics alike as a brilliant comeback and debuted at No.1 in Australia on its release last month.
It was preceded by the release of Die With A Smile, her chart-slaying collaboration with Bruno Mars which has generated more than 2.2 billion streams on Spotify.
There will be pre-sales galore for Monsters to secure the precious tickets to what will be one of the shows of the year.
The Mastercard and Vodaphone pre-sales kick off on April 14, while the Live Nation members pre-sale opens on April 16.
The next shot at tickets will be the general on sale which opens at noon for the Melbourne concert, 1pm for the Sydney show and 2pm for the Brisbane gig.
