IT is 25 years since the album Charcoal Lane by Archie Roach, who had just been homeless, helped shine a light on the pain of the Stolen Generation.
Charcoal Lane, which contained the song Took The Children Away, has been re-recorded by indigenous musicians including features indigenous artists such as Gurrumul, Ellie Lovegrove, and Dan Sultan.
Archie Roach, now 59 and battling ill-health, is now touring with the artists. He was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2015 for his services to music as a singer-songwriter, guitarist and a prominent supporter of social justice.
