Crown Princess Mary and her husband have been pictured together marking a precious family milestone after a Mexican socialite denied claims of an affair.
In official photos shared on Instagram, Mary and Crown Prince Frederik were pictured standing side by side as their eldest son, Prince Christian, marked a major step towards becoming the king of Denmark.
The 18-year-old was photographed with his proud parents and grandmother, Queen Margrethe, after signing the declaration of the constitution at the Council of State, which is a rite of passage for future Danish monarchs.
Each heir to the Danish throne takes the oath to abide by the country’s constitution when they turn 18.
In a sweet touch, the royal family posted a throwback picture of a youthful Crown Prince Frederik signing the declaration of the constitution as a teenager.
Despite the drama surrounding the royal couple, Crown Prince Frederik was all smiles on Tuesday as he hosted the annual networking meeting and dinner for the DenmarkBridge association, a group which aims to forge links between Danish companies and Silicon Valley.
Tasmanian-born Princess Mary was noticeably absent from the event, which was a solo appearance for her husband at Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen.
It comes after the future Queen of Denmark made an apparent subtle statement about her love for her husband during the couple’s recent outing at the Joaquin Sorolla exhibition at the Glyptoteket Museum in Copenhagen during the King and Queen of Spain’s state visit.
Princess Mary wore an 18-carat gold petite letter necklace with the initial ‘F’ from Halberstadt, which could be in reference to her love and support for her husband.
Crown Prince Frederik’s fidelity was called into question after Spanish magazine Lecturas printed pictures of the heir to the Danish throne attending a Pablo Picasso exhibition with Ms Casanova in Madrid.
Frederik met Ms Casanova “several times a year” since the pair got acquainted on a high-end hunting trip, according to new claims.
Their connection has been the subject of intense speculation after photos emerged of the duo enjoying an evening out together in Madrid, as rumours swirl about an alleged affair.
Now a Spanish TV presenter has revealed the pair “have a friendship”, according to new information she said she received “from Genoveva’s entourage”.
Susanna Griso, host of the current affairs show Espejo Publico (which translates to Public Mirror), said the heir to the Danish throne and the reality TV star met in the Alps.
It’s understood they crossed paths on a big-budget hunting trip, the likes of which are frequently attended by European royals and usually held in Germany or Austria.
“They know each other and have friends in common. They usually meet several times a year. They tell me that they are private meetings that are with more friends of the group, some members of royalty,” Ms Griso said on her show, according to Lecturas magazine.
“They meet and sleep in private houses”.
The 55-year-old Crown Prince, who is married with four children, and the 47-year-old media personality, who is divorced, were photographed attending a Picasso exhibition in October.
The duo had dinner at a local restaurant and he was seen visiting her apartment.
Ms Casanova categorically denied the rumours in a statement to Hola! magazine.
She is now reportedly in hiding, having boarded a plane for an unknown destination just hours after the photos were released and turned off her phone to avoid calls.
“The two have been in contact and have decided not to speak and not to fuel speculation at all,” Ms Griso said.
