Prince William will reportedly move swiftly to strip Prince Harry and Meghan of their HRH titles once he ascends the throne.
Sources close to the Prince of Wales opened up to US news website The Daily Beast about the ongoing rift, with one friend describing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s behaviour as “absolutely vile”.
They added that Harry’s recent bombshell interview with the BBC, which came hot on the heels of his court loss over his UK security detail, proved that “he has no interest in reconciling”.
“If he did, a period of silence would have been the right thing to do. The HRHs will go,” the insider added.

William’s plans to strip his brother and sister-in-law of their “His/Her Royal Highness” titles has been reported for some time, but a source told the publication that the plan has now “gained renewed urgency” following Harry’s interview, in which he touched upon his father’s health.
“I would love reconciliation with my family,” he told the BBC, explaining: “There’s no point in continuing to fight any more … I don’t know how much longer my father has. He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff.”

The remarks about King Charles, who has been battling cancer, was found to be in particularly “poor taste” among the royal circle, according to UK newspaper Telegraph.
While the King is understood to be reluctant to provoke any further issues with Harry and Meghan, William has no such qualms – and believes the pair are “loose ends” who must be “completely cut off” from the institution.
“He has no direct contact with Harry anymore, so it will be a clean break,” a former courtier told the Daily Beast.
“And the chaos of a royal succession is always a good moment to make decisive changes. It will be among the first things he will do.”
After “stepping back” from royal duties in 2020, Harry and Meghan were able to retain their titles under the proviso that they not use them commercially.
