Reese Witherspoon called out false allegations that she and Kate Winslet had a “falling out” following a “laser hair removal” joke at an award show.

“Hey guys … just spoke to my very dear friend for years, Kate W,” the Legally Blonde star wrote via her Instagram Story on Saturday alongside a headline highlighting their alleged feud.

“We laughed about this stupidity. Please do not believe the internet. We are good friends and have never had any falling out.”

In a follow-up post, Witherspoon, 48, shared another screenshot of a report, writing, “This is completely UNTRUE … so silly!”

Winslet, 49, hasn’t spoken out about her and the Big Little Lies star’s alleged feud and her reps weren’t immediately available to Page Six for comment.

Witherspoon, meanwhile, was forced to address the rumours about her and the Titanic star’s relationship after revealing she ended a friendship with an unnamed actress when she tanked a speech honouring her pal.

“It literally haunts me,” she said during an interview with People on Thursday. “So this friend of mine — who I didn’t really know that well, but she was a very serious, proper actress — she asked me to give her an award.”

The Oscar winner recalled the event, which she “had never been” to before and “thought was like a roast.”

“I got up and I roasted her,” Witherspoon explained, admitting that she misjudged the vibe of the event, which was “British,” “elegant” and “classy.”

“And I was like, ‘Remember the time we got laser hair removal?!’” the Morning Wars star said.

“We’re not friends anymore. I’m not even kidding — we’re not friends anymore. I think she doesn’t like me anymore,” she added.

“I thought it was so funny, and it was just, I had the wrong audience. It was pretty bad. I’m not even kidding, she doesn’t talk to me anymore. Oh, well.”

Following Witherspoon’s interview, internet sleuths concluded the actress was talking about Winslet and their encounter at the 2007 BAFTA/LA Cunard Britannia Awards.

At the time, the Walk the Line star presented the fellow Hollywood legend with the artist of the year award for her 2006 film Little Children.

“I always wanted to be a European movie star, wear giant sunglasses, elaborate neck scarves, smoke hand-rolled cigarettes and have savoir-faire and gravitas,” she told the audience.

Witherspoon jokingly recalled memories with the Reader star, including when the latter “peed all over herself in front of Harvey Keitel” in the 1999 comedy Holy Smoke!

The Election actress then claimed she couldn’t spill the details of every story with Winslet because they were “too bawdy or tawdy or drunken to tell,” especially the tale of how they “contemplated laser hair removal.”

The duo, however, appeared on good terms with each other while presenting at the 2016 Oscars and were seen talking and hugging backstage.
