An award-winning Toowoomba chocolate company will open its first retail shop, in a major step forward for the business.
Chocolatiers Trevor and Magdalena Smith, who run Metiisto Artisan Chocolate, revealed the big news to fans on social media last week.
The new shop, which would stock all their handmade chocolate and other treats, would be based next to drive-through coffee shop Sleepless City Roasters in Harristown.
“We are finally able to announce that after nine years of chocolate making we are opening our first retail space in Toowoomba,” the Smiths wrote in the post.
“The shop will be stocked with all our chocolate bars as well as coated fruits and nuts and also baking and drinking chocolate.
“We will also be able host tasting events once things return to normal.”
It comes just a few months after Metiisto took out several medals in London’s prestigious Academy of Chocolate Awards, including a gold medal for his Patovaki 72 per cent dark chocolate.
The shop is located at 538 Alderley St.
