The owners of Asian cuisine specialist Junk have announced the Toowoomba store will close at its current Walton Stores location.
The owners behind the modern-Asian street food outlet said the business would be closed from Monday, July 19 and they were looking forward to taking a much-needed break in order to “come back bigger and better in a shiny new location”.
Current owner Todd Farr said the impending end of their lease had prompted the business to make the difficult decision to close the Walton Store location.
“Junk has been at Walton Stores since 2017, and we felt the time had come to make the call to make a change,” he said.
“We’ve got some other projects on the go right now and will possibly look at reopening Junk in a new location next year.”
Originating in the Sunshine Coast, Junk expanded into Toowoomba, Brisbane and Melbourne and was one of the first eateries to open at the Walton Stores dining precinct.
“We want to thank you all, our loyal customers, for your support over the years … and of course our legendary team,” Junk’s recent Facebook post said.
“We can’t wait to get the woks going and bao bun steaming again soon.”
