Diamonds are nice but the owner of a new Toowoomba business thinks pearls are the girl’s real best friend.
Toowoomba’s Jess Hayes has always loved pearl jewellery but after years of struggling to find affordable and high quality pieces, the mother-of-two decided to start making her own.
And now Ms Hayes is set to release the first collection and launch her new business Boutiqo next month.
“Before I had children I was actually working in real estate but I’m a real creative at heart so I decided to dive deep into the world of pearl jewellery making,” Ms Hayes said.
“I’ll be selling handmade pearl bracelets, necklaces and earrings that are both good quality pieces and affordable.”
Set to launch her online store on August 7, Ms Hayes said the first collection will feature a range of modern styles in limited edition quantities.
The new business owner said she hoped to explore other items in the future to include collections for children and bridal.
“I’ve always loved pearls because they’re so unique but classy too,” Ms Hayes said.
“Not everyone can afford diamonds but pearls are for every girl.”
Committed to protecting the environment, the business owner said eco-friendly and compostable packaging will also be used.
Pricing for the first collection will range from $35 to $100.
