LIFELINE Darling Downs has partnered with Wagners to establish a much-needed mental health program.

The program, MINDfit, is a two hour, in-house presentation designed to promote good mental health in the workplace.

MINDfit aims to educate participants on how to identify and support someone with a mental illness as well as ways they can improve their own mental health and wellbeing.

"With poor mental health affecting one in five employees each year we would encourage all businesses to look after their most valuable asset - their staff, " Lifeline Darling Downs chief executive officer Derek Tuffield said.

Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport director Neill Wagner said the company was committed to supporting mental well-being in the workplace and applauded Lifeline Darling Downs for the work they are doing in the community.

"We take a very holistic approach to our staff and programs like MINDFit are a great initiative. As more people in the community talk about mental health issues the closer we become to combating this widespread disease," said Mr Wagner.
