What does it feel inside an Ororo heated poncho?

It’s just what you need in midwinter: an electrically heated poncho. Who cares if it makes you look like Anakin Skywalker?

WHAT IS IT? Just the thing to cheer you up on the shortest day of the year this weekend: it’s a heated poncho!

IT’S A BIT, UMM, DARTH VADER, ISN’T IT? True, you’ll scare small children, but at least you’ll be toasty on the inside. It’s powered by lithium-ion batteries and has eight heating zones to deliver luxurious heat to key parts of the body. Switch it on and you’ll feel the force – sorry, warmth – within minutes.

NICE. I’ll say. It runs for up to three hours on high power, five hours on medium or eight hours on low.

I SEE IT ALSO HAS MULTIPLE SNAP BUTTONS. Yes, that’s to customise the fit of this one-size poncho – although the traditional garment from South America isn’t exactly meant to be form-fitting. Ororo’s modern version has a water-resistant shell, and soft fleece on the inside. The hood is detachable, too.

VERDICT: It’s exactly what you need to get through the next few months. And if you’re ever called upon to play the pan-pipes at a satanic mass (I mean, you never know), you’ve got just the thing!
