At 20,000 lumens the Imalent MS32 is biblically bright and bound to attract attention at the camping ground.

What is it? The new title holder of “world’s brightest torch”. This baby puts out a staggering 200,000 lumens!

That does sound quite bright. I’ll say. The torch on your iPhone is about 50 lumens, for comparison. The MS32 is biblically bright; it’ll cast a beam over 1.6km. It generates so much heat on full power that it needs an inbuilt cooling system (three fans spinning at up to 10,500rpm).

How big is it? It’s 24cm long and weighs 3.1kg. The business end, which contains 32 LEDs, is 15cm across.

Anything else? It has eight brightness modes – double press the main button for full power. The battery takes about two hours to charge.

What’s it for? Search-and-rescue, special ops, blinding deer and signalling to aliens, presumably. But really, you just want it so you can show off to the other dads on camping trips, don’t you?
