What is it? A new product in Australia from Californian male grooming company Manscaped: it’s a “3-step groin shaving kit”!

You mean, for tidying it up a bit down there – a short back and sides? No, for taking it all off. It consists of a gentle groin scrub, a lubricating gel and a dinky razor.

Crikey. Yeah. But if this is a step too far, Manscaped has lots of less extreme grooming products, from electric trimmers to “anti-chafing ball deodorant” and even a “ball spray toner” (I’ll leave that to your imagination).

Verdict: Well, obviously this groin shaving kit is aimed at buff young blokes, not middle-aged dads – but hey, I’ll put my dignity on the line for Road Test. And I decided to surprise the missus with my smooth new look. So I tapped her on the shoulder – TA-DAA! – and she turned around, dropped the watering can, laughed her head off, then said: “It looks like the last chicken in the shop!” That’s hardly encouraging, is it?
