WHAT IS IT? An expensive powder that’ll perk you up no end. Wanna little try?

NO THANKS. MY MUM WARNED ME ABOUT PEOPLE LIKE YOU. Relax, it’s a “plant-based energy boost” that you mix into water. It’s touted as a coffee alternative.

AHH YES. BECAUSE CAFFEINE IS AN EVIL TOXIN. That’s the idea. Naturally, the company’s Instagram page is full of radiant twenty-somethings with glowing skin, flopping around on spotless white sofas and bleating about how tired they are.

HA!! IMAGINE WHEN THEY HAVE KIDS. OR WHEN THEY’RE 54, LIKE ME! I’LL GIVE ’EM TIRED! Take a chill pill, grandad. Or better still, try The Booster. It contains extracts of green tea and guarana, bitter orange, wishful thinking, raspberry ketones, various vitamins and acetyl carnitine. Here, I’ve made you a glass.

HMMM. IT LOOKS LIKE POND WATER. Yes, but it tastes of lemon tea. The Help says it’ll boost metabolism, improve brain function, increase energy levels and help with mood swings. So down the hatch, and three cheers for the placebo effect!
