Heat Healer review: this ‘heated swag’ isn’t for outdoor sleeping

The Heat Healer provides ‘heat therapy’ for your body and mind. If you can forget all the Bondi woo-woo, it’s actually a lovely refuge on a cold winter’s night.

WHAT IS IT? An “infrared sauna blanket”.

PLEASE EXPLAIN. It’s a heated swag, essentially – although it’s not for al frescosleeping. Rather, cocooning yourself in it provides “heat therapy” for your body and mind. “Ancient wisdom powered by modern technology,” toots the Bondi firm behind it.

WELLNESS NONSENSE ALERT! Yup. Not only does it incorporate a Faraday shield to block out electromagnetic radiation, it also has 96 jade and tourmaline stones woven into it, which “emit negative ions” when heated.

MEANING ELECTRICALLY CHARGED PARTICLES? Yes. “Negative ions are typically found in environments that people find peaceful and relaxing, such as the beach, rainforests and waterfalls,” say the Heat Healer people, who – let’s be clear – are not particle physicists. Getting inside it and cranking it up to 70c for an hour or so will also help you “sweat out impurities”.

OH, FOR GOODNESS’ SAKE. I’VE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS BOLLOCKS. I know what you mean. But if you can forget all the Bondi woo-woo, it’s actually a lovely refuge on a cold winter’s night. Super toasty!
