The cast of Johnny v Amber
Please welcome them to the stage
Please welcome them to the stage
We'd like to introduce you to the cast mates of the Amber Heard v Johnny Depp trial extravaganza.
For over a month, a number of familiar (and unfamiliar) faces have graced our YouTube livestreams and viral TikTok videos to participate in the world's most-watched defamation case. Some have been consistent in their appearances, some have returned a few times, and others have provided brief cameos. But all have given intense and graphic insight into this problematic pair.
The lawyers
Benjamin Chew
Chew, one of Depp's lawyers, has captured the eye of (literally) billions of TikTokkers fawning over his bromance with the actor.
He most notably made headlines for celebrating Heard's reference to Kate Moss last week, thought to be because it gives Depp's legal team the opportunity to undermine Heard later-on.
Elaine Bredehoft
Ah, Elaine. Heard's lawyer caught the attention of viewers early on when make-up brand Milani undermined her remarks that the actress had used their compact to cover up alleged bruises inflicted by Depp, when the make-up compact hadn't yet been in circulation.
Camille Vasquez
Depp's lawyer, or, if you asked the internet, his new girlfriend. The Johnny standom has been all about these two from the start, clipping together videos of them to insinuate they may be in something more than a professional relationship.
Vasquez is also the Queen of objections, especially while Heard was on the stand.
The witnesses
Alejandro Romero
The couple's former doorman Romero had the courtroom in hysterics as he vaped and drove during his pre-recorded deposition.
Seemingly fed up with Bredehoft's line of questioning in an interview he had taken by phone in his car, Romero took a long drag of his vape, drove off, and adamantly declared that Heard had only ever been nice to him.
Travis McGivern
Depp's former security guard, McGivern, appeared on-screen with the most glorious beard of any witness thus far. He said he witnessed Heard throw a Red Bull can at Depp.
Kate James
James, Heard's former personal assistant, told the courtroom the actress spat in her face when she asked her for a pay rise.
Shannon Curry
A forensic psychologist recruited by Depp's camp, Dr Curry took the stand early on in the trial to be questioned about... muffins?
Christi Dembrowski
Depp's sister entered the witness box to staunchly defend her brother, and tell the jury she once heard Heard call him an "old, fat man."
Ben King
The house manager of the infamous Australian mansion where Heard and Depp allegedly had their most intense fight testified to finding Depp's severed finger behind the bar, in the living room of the home.
The celebrity cameos
James Franco
Heard claimed Depp kicked her in the back and called her a "slut" in a jealous rage over her relationship with actor James Franco.
She recounted an incident when Depp became upset aboard a plane, when he discovered she had kissed Franco for a scene in 2015 movie The Adderall Diaries. Heard told the court that he had questioned if she "slipped a tongue" to Franco during a scene they , and asked "about how (she) liked it". The actress said she repeatedly attempted to move seats, but Depp would throw ice cubes and utensils at her.
Elon Musk
Depp and Heard's talent agent testified that Heard never truly loved her ex-boyfriend, Musk, who she dated for about a year after she divorced Depp.
Testimony was also given that Musk gave $1.5m to charity in Heard's name, after she promised to donate $10m from her divorce settlement.
