Girl group star, rap mogul's hot girlfriend, "Sasha Fierce", single lady, devoted wife, new mum, pissed off Millennial woman experiencing a shitty relationship phase, the personification of "boss" - Beyonce has been there, done that, but rather than buying the T-shirt, she's sung about it all instead.

And for that, we give thanks.

Ms Carter has been filling our ears, hearts, and minds with joy for more than 20 years now. In a vein similar to the original musical chameleon Madonna, she uses every album to impart wisdom, lessons, and broader messages to her audience. 

She rarely gives interviews, save for occasionally popping up in Vogue in lavish photo spreads, so her canon and back catalogue is all we can use to analyse and depict what's going on, where her head is at and what she's hoping to achieve with her catchy ditties. 

With the release of Break My Soul back in June - a new song that samples iconic dance and house music while flipping the bird to capitalist culture as we know it - then "act one" of her new album Renaissance last week - it got us thinking of all the eras she has experienced.

Life phases many of us can identify and appreciate.

We (if Etsy is to be believed) have the same amount of hours in a day as Beyoncé so why not waste a few minutes of one deciphering which phase you're in right now.
