Brisbane property buyers have the chance to live like a celebrity, with several household names in the football and music world listing their homes.

Wolfmother frontman Andrew Stockdale’s innerwest Paddington pad is on the market. The Joker and the Thief singer moved south from Brisbane to Byron Bay on the NSW North Coast about nine years ago, keeping the Prince St home as his “calm, zen-like” retreat.

The fully renovated Queenslander cottage embraces natural light across both its levels.

Light and white finishes and large windows help modernise the two-storey family home. The kitchen is finished with stainless steel benchtops and appliances to give an industrial appeal, while sleek vertical subway tiles tie together the indoor and outdoor cooking areas and bathrooms.

The big-haired rocker says the house is an escape in the middle of the CBD but close to a thriving art and cafe scene.

“The house as it’s so close to the city and it’s so calm and relaxing. It’s so rare to have a city view with a rainforest-like scene out the back,” Stockdale says.

Listing agent Judi O’Dea, of Ray White Paddington, says the property combined with its prime location should help it achieve about $1.2m to $1.3m at auction on March 16.

“Prince Street is so close to everything, it’s a short walk to the hottest cafe precinct,” she says.

“The house is east facing with city glimpses. It’s the perfect melding of modern design with prized character features.”

Stockdale once owned the property next door in the late 2000s, using the space to write the band’s second studio album Cosmic Egg.

On the other side of the city, rugby union star player Quade Cooper and his wife, former Miss Universe Laura Dundovic, have listed their luxurious modern concrete mansion for $2.65m.

The two-storey property at Addison Avenue, Bulimba, was renovated in 2017, drawing on strong geometric lines and glass panelling.

Symmetry is integral to the design, from the concrete kitchen island to the overhang of the upstairs balcony out over the glass pool. A department store-style walk-through wardrobe in the master suite and a swim-through passage in the pool straight into the shower are just two of the many luxury features added.

The New Farm home of Brisbane Roar player Brett Holman and wife Femke is a recent market addition ahead of their move to the Sunshine Coast.

The kitchen and dining room is divided from the living room by the outdoor deck, with bi-fold doors on the two outdoor-facing walls opening up to create one huge living space. A pool, cellar and study space complete downstairs. Upstairs, two rooms have walk-in wardrobes and ensuites, each with a double shower and bath. All up, the house has five bedrooms and four bathrooms and sits on 443sq m.

Ray White New Farm principal Matt Lancashire says the home’s cul-de-sac setting and practical yet luxurious design is a perfect fit for families.

In a celebrity twist, former Wallabies rugby star Nick “Honey Badger” Cummins has agreed to be in a promotional video to help his sister and brother-in-law sell their three-bedroom Arana Hills home in the outskirts of Brisbane.

It’s all part of the property’s marketing campaign, with real estate agent Jack Dangerfield saying social media has helped the video get noticed by potential buyers

“No publicity is bad publicity,” Dangerfield says.
