Clare Voitin, the wife of embattled lawyer John Voitin, has listed their Deepdene home for sale. Kay & Burton Hawthorn agents Rebecca Edwards and Daniel Bradd have a $2.95 million-$3.25m guide. The Terry Street home is solely owned by Clare, who paid $1m in 2007. Two years later, the five-bedroom home was constructed on the 735sq m block with some $500,000 spent building the home and pool. The home and John Voitin’s former office were raided last year by the Echo Taskforce, as part of an investigation into laundering and concealment by the Comanchero motorcycle gang.
Nufarm exec cashes in
The Malvern home of Paul Binfield, chief financial officer at Nufarm, has been sold having had a $2.295m asking price. His renovated Victorian cottage with plunge pool is only a few minutes walk from the station. The three-bedroom home comes with a kitchen with Bosch appliances and generous open-plan living spaces that open via bi-fold doors on to a landscaped garden. The upstairs master bedroom includes a study nook, walk-in wardrobe and en suite, and there is a double garage with rear-lane access. Fiona Ansell-Jones of Marshall White Stonnington had the listing, which had previously sold at $2.16m in 2015.
Veteran buys into Noosa
The family investment company of property industry veteran Geoff McWilliam and wife Barbara has bought a Noosa holiday apartment. The Sydney-based couple have emerged as the $6.1m buyers on the pricey Hastings Street. The near 200sq m, three-bedroom penthouse in the La Mer complex has a substantial terrace overlooking the beach, as well as a rear courtyard. Tom Offermann Real Estate agents Nic Hunter and Eric Seetoo sold the apartment. It wad sold by New Zealand-based Scott Holyoake, the managing director of Holyoake Air Management Solutions, and wife Tatiana, who paid $3.9m in 2015. McWilliam has 30 years of experience in the property industry, including a decade at Commonwealth Bank’s property funds management division Colonial First State Property.
Sigma director sells weekender
David Bayes, the non-executive director at Sigma Healthcare, and wife Susan have sold their Trentham weekender Mulcahy for $1.71m. The Hepburn Shire getaway north of Melbourne was expected to attract offers in excess of $1.4m. It cost the couple $600,000 in 2007. The area’s latest pricey listing is the newly built St Claire at Trentham East, which is for sale at $3,295,000 through Keatings Woodend agents John Keating and Sandi Barry-Mueller. The French Colonial-style country house was designed by architect Ian Murray. It is surrounded by sprawling gardens created by Anne-Marie Pedeau.
