Taylor tells her story in the Weekly

MATTHEW Newton’s ex, Rachael Taylor, has written a personal account about being a victim of domestic violence in The Australian Women’s Weekly.

TROUBLED actor Matthew Newton’s ex, Rachael Taylor, has spoken for the first time about being a victim of domestic violence.

In the new edition of The Australian Women’s Weekly, out tomorrow, Taylor writes a personal account of the intensely difficult time in her life.

Taylor chose not to speak publicly when she was bashed in a hotel lobby overseas and it has taken three years for her to find the strength to tell her story, joining with White Ribbon to campaign against domestic violence.

Editor-in-chief Helen McCabe flew to New York for the shoot with the Transformers star earlier this year.

“In a brave and honest article, Rachael decided to break her silence as part of a broader campaign by The Weekly to tackle domestic violence in conjunction with White Ribbon,’’ McCabe said.

“White Ribbon is about changing attitudes to the issue given one woman per week dies at the hands of her partner or former partner.”
