Seven West Media appoints Maryna Fewster as it WA chief
Maryna Fewster is now the permanent boss of Seven West Media’s WA arm, after acting in the role for a period.
Maryna Fewster has been appointed chief executive of Seven West Media’s WA arm on a permanent basis after acting in the role for a period, the group CEO Tim Worner has announced.
Ms Fewster, who previously served as West Australian chief operating officer at the company, will be responsible for The West Australian newspaper, The Sunday Times, and 20 regional newspapers, as well as thewest.com.au.
Seven West’s WA business also includes perthnow.com.au, nine radio stations and Channel Seven Perth.
Ms Fewster formerly worked in a range of executive positions in the decade she worked for iiNet.
It comes after parent company Seven Group Holdings announced in May it would cut more than 200 Seven West Media jobs, as part of an ongoing cost reduction program.
Announcing its first half results, Mr Worner said the company was on track to cut its costs by $40 million for the financial year.
Seven West Media reported a statutory net profit of $100.7m for the first half, up from $12.4m in the same period a year prior.
