If you hanker after the lives of the rich and famous, here’s what you need to save for a night in some of the world’s most extravagant suites. Or you can just keep dreaming.

You can’t just reserve the world’s best suites on booking.com, but this one is rumoured to be the most expensive at $US100,000 ($147,000) a night. The four-bedroom, split-level penthouse has an entertainment room, bar, steam room, vast terrace with infinity pool, and its own lobby with ancient decorative olive trees. When the hotel opened in 2023 it reputedly paid Beyoncé $US24 million for a concert; you’ll have to settle for a butler and chef. See atlantis.com

We’re not sure who you should have empathy with: perhaps billionaires, given the price tag said to rival Royal Mansion’s.
