Thai

This simple, tiled eatery opposite Fairfield station is great value, full of atmosphere and very educational if you want to explore traditional Laotian cuisine. The menu is long and has several pairs of dishes with the same name - one served Thai style and the other Laotian. The Laotian flavours are deeper and more fermented than their fresh Thai counterparts. There are also plenty of options for nose-to-tail aficionados - chicken feet salad, tripe salad, barbecued ox tongue and more. Try the crisp, moist Laos sausages and the rich, complex gang massaman. And be warned, chilli is used widely and plentifully.
