Roule Galette
Views of the Yarra and trains rumbling overhead speak of Melbourne, but it's all French inside this riverside creperie, from the menu and maps on the wall to the waiters' cute accents. French cider complements buckwheat galettes, which are folded softly around fillings made to owner Michel Dubois' family recipes - perhaps creamy bechamel, bacon and cheese (the 'forestiere'), or caramelised onion, potato and bacon (the 'tartiflette' - a special so popular it's now a menu mainstay). Silky dessert crepes with melted chocolate and ice-cream, or drizzled with buttery, salted caramel, are a decadent finish. Also at 241 Flinders Lane, City.
