Essenza Yarra Valley
Italian$$
Irony alert: this thin strip of a cafe doesn't do skinny milk. Presumably, watching one's fat intake isn't part of this slender concern's ethos: to capture the 'essence' of the Yarra Valley. What does make the cut, however, might be zucchini and dill muffins baked in pots, panini of sopressa, gorgonzola, rocket and roma tomato; and brilliant tasting platters that carry rosemary-roasted pistachios, goat's milk cheese, fresh ricotta, olives, prosciutto Somehow this small place fits in a girth of great flavours, and the floor-crew manage to deliver Warburton-roasted coffee with cheer, and without hip-and-shouldering the victuals lining the long wall.
