Music festival Sydney City Limits has announced it's all-day dining line-up with restaurant talent just as brilliant as the bands on stage.

The sister event to legendary Texan festival Austin City Limits, will rock Centennial Park on February 24 with performances by Grace Jones, Phoenix, Beck and The Avalanches, and food stalls hand-picked by Mary's Newtown co-owners, Jake Smyth and Kenny Graham.

On top of standard-issue dagwood dogs and hot chips, there will be Mary's burgers, Fratelli Paradiso pasta, Da Orazio porchetta rolls, Paper Bird Korean bowls, Porteno wood-fired excellence, Hartsyard fried chicken, Rising Sun ramen, Bad Hombres Mexican and Sri Lankan hoppers courtesy of ex-Berta chef O Tama Carey.

Thai street food will be provided from David Thompson's Long Chim, sweet things are expected from Saga and sticky things are coming from Chaco Bar.

It's a line-up that rivals many food festivals.

The Mary's blokes have also enlisted local Annandale hero Fat Fish ("owners John and Manny cook a cracking fish and chips," says Smyth) and Haymarket institution Chinese Noodle Restaurant (also known as "the dumpling place with the grapes on the ceiling").

Natural Australian wine will be supplied from soon-to-open Enmore bottle shop P&V.

"The festival is a celebration of Sydney and the community as much as it's about live music," says Smyth. "We thought this would be a great opportunity to cast the net a bit wider and showcase food we love that isn't necessarily native to the festival world."

Smyth and Graham's Paddington pub, The Unicorn, will be reimagined as "Kiddy City Limits" at the all-ages event. "We'll have kids' meals, a giant rainbow unicorn, custom-made colouring books and hands-on cooking demos," says Smyth. "I think the Unicorn guys will dress in chef's whites and toques for it too. We want to make it as much fun for the kids as possible."
