Hatted chef Darrell Felstead joins wine bar Lenta on Reservoir Street
Darrell Felstead is back in Surry Hills, six years after he closed his hatted restaurant Foveaux.
The chef is behind the burners at Lenta, a new wine bar that has taken up residence in the onetime space of Bangbang Cafe on Reservoir Street.
"Lenta is the Portuguese word for slow and easy. The inspiration for the food stretches from Portugal all the way through to Morocco," Felstead says.
Rather than waiting for lockdown to end, Felstead made the decision to roll out a takeaway menu of deli treats, artisan cheese boards and family feast meals with 18-hour lamb shoulder. Low and slow being its mantra.
"To come back in the old neighbourhood is an honour," he says.
