Hanoi Hannah is on the move in Windsor

Hanoi Hannah, the Vietnamese restaurant that launched a wave of alliteratively named Windsor restaurants (including Saigon Sally and Tokyo Tina) is on the move – but it isn't going far.

The doors will close at 180 High Street on November 4 while Hanoi Hannah prepares to relocate its flagship restaurant across the road at 223 High Street. It will reopen in early 2019 with a look inspired by the building's warehouse past and a new fire-powered menu.

All over Vietnam, wood smoke scents the air, says the Commune Group's Simon Blacher. The menu will apply charcoal, wood and smoke to seafood, poultry, meat and vegetables. "It might not be too pretty but it's going to be tasty."

While work goes on at the new HQ, Hanoi Hannah Express Lane at 186 High Street, will keep up supplies of rice-paper rolls, pho, stir-fries and salads to take away.
