Burrawang Village Hotel
18/20
Modern Australian$$
If you were on death row you'd want this hotel serving up your last meal: especially the slow-cooked pork roast topped with crackling - better than mum ever made (sorry mum) - and surrounded by a heap of steamed and roasted vegetables, or the grilled salmon steak with lightly steamed asparagus and a perfect mash. The bar is warm and friendly, the fire crackling, bar staff welcoming and happy to help with selections from an excellent range of beers and local wines, and there's an enormous beer garden for the warm weather.
