From one-time bleak street to eat street thumping with names such as Stanbuli, Hartsyard and Merivale's Queen Chow, Enmore Road now has some serious food pedigree.

The strip's newest addition, Arepa, touches down on Saturday, June 16, the brainchild of a trio of entrepreneurial Venezuelans.

In many ways, Arepa is in the spirit of the affordable and fast venues that pioneered the early turn of Enmore Road's food fortunes.

"It's a quick service, casual restaurant and takeaway, but we will bring the food to your table," owner Andres Rodriguez says of the new quick-draw, gluten-free joint he's opened with Kysbel Castellanos and Alberto Ferreira.

The trio fine-tuned the restaurant's food on the Sydney food market circuit before launching a bricks and mortar venue.

The stuffed bun-like arepa with pulled pork and 'slaw were big sellers at Sydney markets.

"We started at markets a couple of years ago, quickly going from doing one market to two or three. We found a lot of our clientele from the markets were from around Enmore, so we looked around here for sites," Rodriguez says.
