The White Cockatoo
15/20
$$
The White Cockatoo offers diners a United Nations of pounded, breaded chicken. There's Spanish (chorizo and chickpeas) and Hawaiian (yep, pineapple) but be warned, the portions are bigger than an Oktoberfest hangover. A Greek schnitzel is our pick, with a crisp outer layer and a rich tomato sauce and cheddar hiding a layer of marinated feta and kalamata olives. A local confides that he and his mate share one and still take some home. The fish of the day is beautifully cooked in light herbs with a simple iceberg lettuce salad, and a starter of garlic prawns would do a Spanish restaurant proud.
