The Hero of Waterloo
13/20
Contemporary$$
The Hero of Waterloo is not a destination for its food or its wine. The plain pub grub fills you up, the wine list is limited, but visiting this 1843 pub is like a going back in time to Old Sydney Town. The sandstone walls (still marked by the fires that used to warm the clientele), the wooden floors and the original fittings make the Hero of Waterloo a piece of history as well as a fun night out. The crowd is a mix of regulars, locals and backpackers, and what the bar staff lack in finesse they make up for in enthusiasm.
