Happy Chef
Asian$$
At least three generations of inner-westies have patronised the Happy Chef since late last century. They still duck in for laksa and noodle soups, special sizzling meat plates and dozens of Chinese, Chinese-Australian and other Asian combinations. It's a favourite with families and students, and the $5 Tsingtao beer ensures return business despite the hospital-cafeteria ambience. Try the salty crispy-skin chicken at non-Chinatown prices (a half bird is enough for two), generous mixed seafood laksa or anything with 'sizzling' in the title - such dishes arrive with a steamy flourish and you will be the envy of fellow diners. Very child-friendly, Happy Chef is also great for groups.
