Sticks & Grace

Modern Australian

This relatively sedate strip of Pakington Street, in the comfortable suburb of Newtown, is home to high-end clothing and speciality stores and Sticks & Grace. A characteristically stylish cafe (with fresh produce used as a centrepiece on tables, and stacks of glossy mags) it opens out to a paved off-street terrace. Smart partnering of ingredients gives the brunchy menu an edge: baked beans with parmesan French toast, gingerbread pancakes with cinnamon syrup. There are local ingredients too: Istra chorizo on a ricotta, roast tomato and rocket pizza. Good Allpress coffee, just-squeezed juices plus a sprinkling of wines keep customers comfortably contented.
