Castlemaine’s Victorian-era fire station provides the ideal space for this laidback cafe, bar and gallery, giving locals and blow-ins space to spread out and savour excellent coffee, banana bread with local banksia honey, free-range Goldfields eggs several ways (perhaps scrambled with olive oil and grana padano) and minute steak with rocket salad, or duck with discs of kipfler.
