Ludo
Despite feeding locals for almost a decade, Ludo doesn't rest on its laurels. Sage walls, vintage posters, kitchen accoutrements and shelves of gourmet produce create a cosy old-school ambience. A changing blackboard menu skips from breakfasts to late lunches with 'petit snacks' for those wanting to graze and go. It's a danger zone for pastry lovers - think ham, cherry tomato and ricotta tart or chicken, asparagus and leek pie - though chicken meatballs or panini are also satisfying. Sweets (Portuguese tarts, cupcakes or friands) are a drawcard, as are finger sandwiches and mini salmon bagels. There are take-home meals too.
