Gauge Espresso
Cafe
The first thing to greet your bleary eyes at this lovely, pared-back-but-cosy cafe is a massive poster that says 'I heart my coffee hit'. Amen to that. A steady stream of regulars heart Gauge's coffee ($3.50), their orders brewed up as soon as the congenial owner/barista Zeth Romanis clocks them. He'll choose a blend that suits the way you take your coffee - a cafe latte made with a Zero G blend comes out soft and smooth with not a fern in sight, and a long black varies depending on what beans he's trialling. Food is a simple, freshly made array of muffins, sandwiches and a daily dish depending on the season.
