Cafeteria
European$$
To some, Cafeteria is another good, sunny suburban cafe, but to locals it's a beacon in a culinary wilderness. Classics (such as lasagne or rockling and chips) are cooked with care using quality ingredients. Brekkies attract crowds with faves such as potato roesti with spinach and egg. For lunch, try the chicken meatballs on crusty bread or, if budgets are tight, the house-made soup. Dinner happens only on Fridays but specials such as fried pig's ear and crab salad or chermoula king salmon with cauliflower and quinoa salad exceed expectations, and if prices are edging up, the generous desserts (say chocolate clafoutis or berry crumble) are easily shared.
