Cafe Le Chien
British
Le Chien: French for dog, Seddonese for institution. Formerly a chihuahua-sized hole in the wall, it's now big enough to house Western Bulldogs footballers - you might spy them here between training sessions. But you'll still need to pad in early on the weekend if you want a table, pram parking or to put pooch first in line for the dog bowl. Service is polite, the Supreme brews nutty and balanced, and the poached eggs are basset-tummy soft: try the famous Promite version with toast, tomato and avocado. On the wall, Iggy Pop goes into Le Chien marketing mode: 'I wanna be your dog!'
