Ever fancied eating food from some of Sydney's best restaurants at home? Now's your chance.

Think takeaway, and pizza and souvlaki might come to mind. But with people being asked to stay home to control the spread of COVID-19, some of Sydney's best restaurants and cafes are getting into the takeaway and delivery game.

Eating restaurant food at home requires a change of mindset, from enjoying the entire atmospheric experience of dining out to simply appreciating the food in our own surrounds.

To continue supporting their 25 staff, they've launched Essential Kitchen Sydney in their Neutral Bay kitchen, transforming the sandwich production area into a grocery store with essentials such as meat, bread, pasta, sauces, eggs and milk. They're also offering chef-made meals for $12, home delivered between 9am and 5pm daily, along with grocery boxes. There are plenty of dairy-free, nut-free and vegan options also, plus they've extended their outdoor seating. Lumiere now offers kerbside pick-up when customers call or text orders in advance and provide their numberplate. From March 25, this sustainability-focused Pottsville restaurant will begin making Pipit care packages, which will change regularly and seasonally. Small boxes ($46) could contain housemade bread, butter, stock, preserves, pickles and unique produce from growers who don't usually sell to the public (such as Boon Luck Farm). Large boxes ($92) will have extra goodies such as cured meats, meal-kits and recipes,sauces, and ferments.
